Graphing Exponential Functions
About:
Additional Resources:
In this lesson, we will explore the definition of an exponential function: f(x) = ax, where a is greater than 0, and, a is not equal to 1. We will discuss the restrictions on the base a, as well as the domain and range for the function. Additionally, we will learn how to sketch the graph of an exponential function using function transformations. We will look at how to reflect the graph across the x-axis or y-axis, how to perform a horizontal or vertical shift, and how to perform a horizontal/vertical stretch or compression.
