Solving Logarithmic Equations

About:
Additional Resources:

In this lesson, we learn how to solve logarithmic equations. For the easiest scenario, we will have only one logarithm present. To solve this type of equation, we convert the equation into logarithmic form and solve the resulting equation. Secondly, we will see a logarithmic equation, where logs of the same base are set equal to each other. For this scenario, we set the arguments of the logarithms equal to each other and solve the resulting equation. Lastly, we will see examples where we need to use the properties of logarithms in order to get our solution. When we solve a logarithmic equation, we must make sure that we check any proposed solution in the original equation.
