Applications of Linear Equations Part 1

In this section, we revisit the concept of a word problem. Word problems are often called application problems. We studied these in algebra 1 and will revisit these problems here in algebra 2. This will ensure we have a more complete understanding, before moving into more challenging material. Many students read through a word problem and become confused about how to start the problem. Here, we will begin by reviewing some of the key phrases that one will have to interpret to solve word problems. Understanding these phrases and keywords will enable one to quickly process the information in a word problem and gain a solution. We will end our section with many practice problems that cover several of the most basic types of word problems.
